My 2019 Goals – An Update

It’s a sunny Saturday, I’m absolutely full of cold and I come across a previous post… my goals for 2019. I laugh to myself 😂 I never EVER stick to any of the goals I set myself, usually because I forget or can’t be arsed! I’ve decided it’s time to go back and see how we’re doing because there’s still time to make some changes 👍

Original Goal: Improve Make Up Skills ✅

Do I think I’m technically more skilled? No. Is my insta beauty focussed at all? No.

However, I do think my make up skills are better. The past 9 months have taught me how to really understand and care for my skin, meaning my application has improved. I have streamlined the products I’m using and I’m finding that simplicity in my looks is key – not because I can’t do something a bit trickier but I just prefer how I look.

For the rest of the year, I might try to be more adventurous which will certainly be useful for my Christmas looks.

Original Goal: Ensure my Cosmetics are Cruelty Free ✅

Because I don’t like to waste, I did use all of my Benefit products and ensured that what I was using was in fact cruelty free! I use a lot of Revolution Pro now and Bourjois for my base products. It feels no different but I know it’s making a difference.

Original Goal – Take Control of my Mental Health ✅

I think this goal was the most important to me because last year was so 💩 with all of the heartache in our family. I decided in 2019 to do my Grandad proud – he wouldn’t want to see me wallowing. He’d want me to enjoy life in the amazing spirit he did too so that’s what I have done.

I have taken up more exercise, singing with a choir, going to blogging events, walking, somewhat amateur photography of my local area, writing blog posts more consistently and I’ve just tried to be more of an opportunist.

As a result, my mental health has been loads better. Recently I wrote a blog post about my experience with Panic Attacks – something which I had previously experienced a lot of. This year, I’ve had ☝️- a pretty big one but only one nonetheless.

I am able to be more assertive in a diplomatic way, I know what is good for me and I also feel like I’ve grown up a whole lot because, despite being 31, I could be quite immature at times and I don’t mind admitting that. Goal smashed!

Original Goal – Buy our first home

I can’t say too much about this yet so I won’t but all I will say is work in progress – watch this space! By the end of 2019, I will be ticking this one off!

Original Goal: Spend More Time with Family

I would say this is still a work in progress because I’d like to see my family a little more than I do but I really struggle for time so I will continue to make the effort because they are really important to me. I aim to visit my grandma each holiday I get too – time is very precious.

How are your goals coming along? Are you already looking ahead to 2020? Share your thoughts 💭
