Recently I’ve been really under the weather! I’ve neglected the blog and my Insta especially and these are important outlets for me and keep my mental health in check so I’m glad to be back to it!
I popped into Superdrug today knowing it was 3 for 2 on cosmetics and thinking I deserved an update to my collection! Keep reading to see what I got ❤️
Revolution Pro Microblading Effect Pencil in Chocolate
Honestly, this is a repurchase! I live for this eyebrow pencil! I’ve had many like this over the years including a Primark version and a NYX version but I always go back to this! At £4, it’s an absolute bargain and it lasts quite a while. The small nib allows you to be really precise with the hair strokes and the spoolie on the end means you can blend the product through your brows to give it a natural look. Here’s one I just did…
Mac Fix +
I won’t be reviewing this but I wanted to outline all steps of my face this evening. I used this before I applied foundation and also after I applied all the make up. This is my holy grail in terms of fixing spray but it makes a great prep base too. I sometimes use a blur stick but I wanted to see how the foundation went on without a heavy primer underneath.
Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation
I was so excited for this! When I first tied the concealer version, it felt like the perfect dupe for Tarte Shape Tape. As a result, I had massively high expectation of this. As a foundation it has the same applicator as the concealer. I found it tricky to gauge how much I needed to put on my face from the dabber. I applied this using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and it applied like a dream. The coverage is fairly good; a medium coverage I would say and it feels lovely and light! It is buildable too! So far, really impressed with this. Here’s a picture of me with the base on before powder to give you an idea of coverage.
Revolution Pro Pressed Finishing Powder
Of all the products I bought, this is probably my least favourite. It is a white powder as I expected although I appreciate it looks peachy on the picture. It’s very talcy and it seemed to take a lot of product for me to be mattified. As it’s my first use, I will keep on with it and feed back to you all and hopefully it will perform better as time goes on.
ABH Modern Renaissance Palette
As I didn’t buy any eye product, I used my trusty ABH palette. The picture shows the shades I used but tbh I wasn’t trying to create a ‘wow’ showstopper kind of look! I just didn’t want my eyes to be bare.
Revolution Jelly Highlighter in Dazzling
I used the real techniques fan brush to apply this. It’s got such a funny consistency but it’s so gorgeous! You could apply this using your fingers but I applied a little to the back on my hand and then used the fan brush to place on my face which seemed to work really well! There are three shade variations of this but this one suited my skin tone best. Feel free to check them out on revolutionbeauty.com
The Mascara Revolution
I actually won’t be reviewing this now and this is simply because I have used it tonight and it’s made my lashes clumpy. In saying this, I had mascara on beforehand and though I did remove my make up, there is a chance the mascara didn’t come off as much as I would have liked. I don’t feel like it’s fair to make a judgement on it now. It’s school photo day tomorrow so I’ll try it out for that.
I apologise for the appalling quality of pictures but I’m very tired. I think you get the idea. Everything together performs fairly well. I wouldn’t say any of the products bought were my favourites but they are all worth a go and I can’t wait to experiment with them and other products I already own.
I cannot complain! Superdrug 3 for 2 is the absolute best! I’ll outline Original prices for all products below:
- Micro blade pencil – £4
- Conceal and Define Foundation -£9
- Revolution Pro Pressed Powder – £5
- Jelly Highlight – £6
- The Mascara Revolution – £8
- Liquid Highlight (not seen) – £3
Total Cost should have been: £35
I paid £25! ✌🏻😍❤️😬🎉
I’ve really enjoyed sharing the new products with you and I’ll look at some of them in greater depth at a later date!
